According to the Center For Disease Control And Prevention about 600,000 Americans die each year from heart disease, which is a staggering 1 in every 4 deaths. More than half of the deaths due to heart disease in 2009 were in men. And, out of approximately 715,000 heart attacks suffered each year nearly 525,000 are a first heart attack.

“The metabolic war within the bloodstream eventually moves into the walls of our arteries if left unchecked. The lining of the blood vessel, or vascular endothelium, then quits functioning normally. This enables, or encourages, LDL (lousy, lethal cholesterol) and macrophage molecules to invade the wall and pour fuel on an intensifying, fiery battle. As the fight continues, plaque grows. This increases the likelihood of it rupturing and spilling its fatty gel into the bloodstream.” — Excerpt from “The Seven Numbers” by Scott Conard .MD
