When it comes to diabetes, diet and exercise are both critically important. So of course you see article after article about these two subjects on a regular basis if you are in the habit of cruising health & wellness websites. But what about sleep? Rarely do you see an article that stresses the importance of sleep for diabetics. Fortunately, I came across one earlier today by Marianne Tetlow on empower.com that I thought was really good.
It mentions some of the hurdles that a diabetic has to deal with when trying to sleep, and some of the things that happen internally when someone doesn’t get enough sleep. And apparently, there is growing evidence that too little sleep can effect the internal workings of the body in such a way as to promote diabetes.
