It may be difficult to admit, but to a great degree, when you stand naked in front of a mirror just before or after your bath or shower, what you see from the neck down is a direct reflection of your decisions from the neck up. You really can’t hate it or love it. It’s just like gravity–it is what it is because of what you have chosen to do up to this point in your life. If you keep making the same choices, you are going to keep getting the same results.

The question is, what will you choose to do from here on out?

We had our GOH4Breakthroughs class tonight and discussed teachable moments. Do you recognize when you have had teachable moments in your life?

Here is some of the feedback from attendees at tonights class on when they had teachable moments:

Kathryn – recognizing what her dynamic tension is and becoming aware of the fact that she may have competing committments. Competing committments mean that you have a vision and a reality; a competing committment is one that is stronger than the goal you envision achieving.

Chris – Inspiration pulls you toward vision. Her realizing that Gluten was a culprite in the some of her health issues and then taking it out of her diet and realizing the benefits that being gluten free has in her life.

Maleia – Having Dr. Conard tell her that she wasn’t going to see her grandkids grow up because she was a diabetic, overweight, heart disease if she didn’t change some things in her life.

Scott – He has teachable moments when he learns something that rocks his world and gets a deeper understanding that creates a dynamic tension. One of his big ones was when he had a drug rep calculate his BMI and it totaled a number that fell in the obese category.

Eloise – When she got robbed at gunpoint and locked in the trunk of her car, she realized it wasn’t her time to go and there was still a lot for her to do. Everything since then is a gift.

Jim – Getting diagnosed with cancer at 48 years old and it made him tremendously more aware of everything about his health. Now he tries to listen to the doctor.

Cheryl – The last year of her dad’s life he was in the hospital 14 times at 62 years old. He had worked 2 jobs his whole and was never able to enjoy retirement or his grandkids. She realized she didn’t want to end up in the same place and needed to make changes in her life to ensure she didn’t.

What have your teachable moments been in YOUR life? What is the next teachable moment you are going to have? How do you get to be inspired and driven to move to the next level in your life?

If you are overweight or obese, you don’t have to stay that way. You can change! All you need is a willingness to be open-minded to the principles presented in the book, Weight Loss the Jabez Way, not close minded because of past experiences. In the world of theatre, thi is called “a willing suspension of disbelief.” In order to successfully move from where you are, to where you want to be, you will need to suspend the disbelief or doubts filling your mind, trying to tell you, “you’ve tried this before, and it doesn’t work.”

The prayer of Jabez, found in 1 Chronicles 4:10, gives us seven powerful principles to effectively lose weight, and live healthy, vibrant lives. Through the book, we examine certain standards and principles of good health proved to be indispensable and true. As we journey, you will be encouraged to apply them to your own life. Your body may or may not respond immediately, and it may not respond exactly the way someone else’s does. That’s okay.

We could take four people – a post menopausal woman in her 60′s, a mother of four in her mid-30′s, a young man with high testosterone levels in his 20′s and a man who has little to no testosterone in his 80′s and place them all on the same diet. More than likely, we would get four different results. The diet may work for one or even two of them, but not all four. That’s okay. The point is, you need to be flexible and try different things until you find the plan that works for you.

Are you ready to suspend your disbelief?

When Dr. Scott Conard went into private practice in 1989, he could not have known that his future would take him to national prominence in the field of disease prevention, that he would become a well-read and respected author on health matters, or that his Game of Health website would develop into one of the most comprehensive health websites.

Dr. Conard has spent the past 15 years studying the latest western medicine research, eastern medicine, mind-body medicine, herbal and vitamin therapy, acupuncture, manipulation, hormone therapy, and lifestyle medicine. He presents all of his findings on his web site.

Within the many links on his web site, Dr. Conard spends much time discussing the field of weight loss medicine, arguing that many people, especially in America where obesity has reached epidemic proportions, can live happier and more joyful lives if they lose excess weight. Among Dr. Conard’s many achievements noted on the website, is the fact that he has become board certified in bariatric medicine, or weight loss medicine.

The elaborated game of health web site covers all angles of the health care field. For instance, Dr. Conard stresses the importance of being proactive in regards to health matters. The web site documents the fact that most common health issues facing Americans today – such as heart disease, cancer, prediabetes, and diabetes – regularly exist for five to 15 years before the adverse condition is recognized and treated, under the current medical practices.

Following one of the links on this web site, we find out about one of many proactive means to approach the avenue of health: natural supplements. Knowing that not any supplement can effectively be implemented to address the many health issues faced by the U.S. public, Dr. Conard and his coworkers have developed a full line of natural supplements. These are available at www.physiciansnaturalsupplements.com. The specific applications for each supplement might surprise you.

These natural supplements can be categorized into six groups:

1) General Health

2) Vitality Health

3) Heart Health

4) Bones & Joint Health

5) Fat Loss

6) Male/Female Health

Within the category of General Health, as you might expect, products include Omega 3, Multivitamins and Vitamin D3. As you navigate deeper into the contents of that web site, some new and interesting products might catch your attention. For instance, under the general heading of Vitality Health is an All-natural Sleep Maintenance Formula and a Seratonin Mood Formula. Under the heading of Heart Health, one discovers Vascular Compensation and Healthy CholEnhance w/niacin products. In the Bones & Joint category you will find Wobenzyme for joint support. In the Fat Loss Products category on the same website, you will find Metabetes Craving Relief and in the Male/Female Health category the Prostate Support is one of the listed products.

Thanks to a web site put in place by Dr. Scott Conard – a national expert on disease prevention, author, and sought public speaker, based in Texas – web browsers now have the opportunity to understand Dr. Conard’s game of health program.

The information on the website is aimed at helping individuals live healthier and happier lives by achieving and maintaining an optimal weight. In contrast with other aspects of losing weight, such as through exercise and/or lifestyle changes, the meal-based diets concept focuses on the foods that one needs to eat or to avoid eating when attempting to lose weight.

As with several other sections of Dr. Conard’s web site, the doctor provides no personal input about which meal-based diets he might recommend, but instead he provides cursory information covering a wide array of meal-based diets.

On the meal-based diets link of the Game of Health web site, Conard presents those interested in the topic numerous meal-based diets products. For every product there is a short description and – for the diets which received enough public reviews – a users’ rating score is given. This is related to how well consumers did or did not like the meal-based diets in question.

From hundreds of meal-based diets presented, we took a representative sample of 18 meal-based diets for this article. Six of them were given 100% users’ rating scores, other six did not have enough reviews to receive a score, and the last six were granted users’ rating scores below the 100% mark.

The six meal based diets receiving a 100% users’ rating scores were:

the 21 Day Weight Loss Kickstart program, described as “a plant-based diet…that promises to get you healthy fast”

the 21-Day Vegan Kickstart, described as a “plan to test the vegan lifestyle”

the Anne Collins program designed by a nutritionist who has more than two decades of experience in the field

Asian Slim Secrets, where one is given the opportunity to tap into slimming secrets from the Asian culture

the atypical Banana Diet, that has gained popularity in Japan. One of many supportive arguments for this fad diet is that bananas include an enzyme that assists in the digestive process, thus speeding up the intestine’s work in that element of health care

Bread for Life, a meal-based diet that challenges the concept that too many carbohydrates are harmful

In the game of life, the game of health is the most important game that you will play. That is because the game of health decides how long you get to play the game of life; it is as simple as that. Of course, the game of health is not simple at all; it seems like there is so much to do and to remember. The world is playing against you, so you have to be careful. Three steps to the game of health are hard to take because your opponent will try to counter your efforts.

A Proper Diet

Exercise

Plenty of Rest

Get a Healthy Diet

In the game of health, a proper diet is essential if you plan to be here for a while. Good food and food that is good for you is not always the same thing. In fact, very often our favorite foods are bad for us and detrimental to the game of health. Too much of a bad thing can lead to medical problems that can make life miserable.

The key to winning the proper diet war is will power and moderation. Will power can help you make the right choices by steering clear of the wrong food, regardless of how much you may crave it. Moderation can help you because in the game of health, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

Intentions Do Not Work Out In The Game of Health

The game of health calls for exercise, yet everywhere we look, we see obesity and laziness. The temptation to skip a workout is usually pretty strong; however, if you want to win the game of health, you have to force yourself to stick to a regular regimen.

Fortunately, for most of you, the game of health only calls for a good workout two or three times a week; if you find the right workout, even twenty to thirty minutes will usually suffice. Remember that the road to obesity is paved with good intentions. Intending to workout and working out are two different things.

Get Plenty of Rest

You would not think that getting enough rest would be difficult; however, in this world of complications and the need to get things done, few of us can allow ourselves to sleep for eight hours a night.

The game of life is demanding and the game of health usually takes a backseat to it. The game of life demands that we juggle a career with a family and still find the time to take care of ourselves. A selfish game of health can take us away from other things that seem important. When you think about it, what good is the game of life if you lose the game of health?

Some people walk the walk, while others talk the talk, and Dr. Scott Conard, a health care provider from the Dallas, Texas, area, is comfortable working in both roles. The man who has spent more than two decades actively involved in improving health care in America, is a highly sought public speaker, renowned specialist on disease prevention, and well-read author.

Not one to mince with words, Dr. Conard says “We are mortgaging our future with an impractical, frustratingly antiquated, and expensive health care system.”

In a short biographical piece on Dr. Conard’s extensive health care Game of Health web site, a core grain of this man’s innate values is put forth in these words: “The most important part of Dr. Conard’s job is helping people improve the quality of their life by discovering for themselves improved health.”

In another biographical sketch on Dr. Conard’s huge health care related web site, the doctor himself shares the words he would like inscribed on his epitaph “On my tombstone I pray it says ‘Scott Conard empowered people to live better lives, medical providers to have a greater healing footprint of ever higher care, and he left every person he met feeling empowered with a more fulfilling life’”.

A graduate of the University of South Florida Medical School before officially entering the health care field into private practice in 1989, one of Dr. Conard’s many post-graduate accolades came when he became board certified in bariatric medicine (weight loss medicine). His passion to help individuals live improved lives dovetails with bariatric medicine where he says that anyone who is overweight or obese doesn’t need to remain in that state.

Dr. Conard wrote the book Weight Loss the Jabez Way with the hope that people would improve their health care status by implementing basic steps in the book; in doing so, they would be amazed by how their life will improve. The significance of this approach to health care comes through a release from experts at the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention that an estimated two thirds of all Americans qualify as being obese.

Dr. Conard’s quest to discover best health care practices to help update the “frustratingly antiquated” U.S. health care system drove him to learn of health care practices employed around the world. Over the last 15 years, the renowned health care provider studied the most recent advancements in western medicine, eastern medicine, mind-body medicine, lifestyle medicine, hormone therapy, manipulation, acupuncture, and herbal and vitamin medicine.

Dr. Conard views primary care providers as the cornerstone to an improved health care system in America. Like a milking stool, Dr. Conard says three critical elements have to be addressed in an idealized health care situation between patients and providers: quality, revenue and quality of life.

One additional step stressed in Dr. Conard’s recommendations to improve the health care field in America is, contrary to much of the norm today, taking the medical practices to the patient instead of vice versa.

Dr. Scott Conard, the nationally recognized expert on disease prevention and author who practices medicine in Dallas, Texas, has stuck yet another feather in his cap because of his close involvement with Physicians Natural Choice, a company that produces natural supplements to improve people’s lives.

Initially, Dr. Conard and his associate, Dr. Ken Adams, launched the company to provide an avenue for health care providers to access pure, natural supplements without fear of unhealthy ingredients. Now, many products from a long line of natural supplements can be accessed directly by the public without the need of a physician’s prescription.

Prices may vary markedly from one brand of natural supplements to the next, but anyone who purchases products from Physicians Natural Choice can be assured that only natural ingredients are included in the manufacture of each supplement.

One thing that sets Physicians Natural Choice apart from potential competitors is how extensively Dr. Conard and Dr. Adams have stocked their web site with detailed information for all natural supplements they sell. The web site explains all aspects of the many natural supplements sold there, ranging from Vascular Compensation, for the heart; Insulin Resistance Craving Relief, for fat loss; and Iron Absorption Formula, for both men and women.

For this article, we have randomly selected two natural supplements products to explore the depth of research Dr. Conard and Dr. Adams went to in order to educate potential users of these products. The products we choose are Sleep Maintenance Formula and Brain Neurotransmitter and Memory Boost.

Sleep Maintenance Formula ($12 per bottle) is the natural supplements product most easily described because it is mainly comprised of one ingredient – melatonin. Melatonin is a natural hormone that is synthesized from the amino acid tryptophan by the pineal gland, located in the back of the neck. This hormone has a critical role in regulating sleep/wake cycles, supporting normal immune functions, and protecting cells from free radicals.

According to the Physicians Natural Choice web site, the Sleep Maintenance Formula is important because “In the brain, melatonin is perhaps the most important physiological antioxidant”. This natural supplements product should be taken once, daily, at bedtime. There are health warnings for pregnant or nursing women.

The Brain Neurotransmitter and Memory Boost ($71 per bottle) has 11 different ingredients, including ginkgo biloba. Each ingredient stimulates different sections of the human brain to perform at a higher level. The descriptions of each nutrient is so technical that probably only a physician or pharmaceutical engineer would enjoy.

A national leader in disease prevention, sought public speaker, and author, Dr. Scott Conard is highly critical of the health care system in America today. Affordability is one of many issues that Dr. Conard has been tackling in the health care industry for more than two decades. On his Game of Health web site, he says: “I worry that we are mortgaging our future with an impractical, frustratingly antiquated, and expensive health care system.”

In 2011, Dr. Conard became chief medical officer of the ACAP Health Consulting division of the insurance brokerage firm Holmes Murphy & Associates. The affordability of health care was a contributing factor to Dr. Conard’s leap into this new realm of the health care field.

When Dr. Conard assumed the new role, ACAP was moving into a new business philosophy. Instead of being a clinically-based wellness and cost management insurance organization, it was transitioning into a value-based health asset management and clinical care engineering leader. One of the top priorities of that change was a concern about affordability.

The importance of affordability was highlighted at the end of a recent promotional piece released by ACAP Health: “The enemy is not insurance companies, hospital systems, or even the government. Make no mistake – the real enemy here is disease.” At the conclusion of ACAP Health’s statement, it was noted the health agency’s new role was to “connect at-risk patients with the health care providers and programs that give them the best chance to get better” with care affordability being a significant piece of the formula.

With affordability for clients as an ongoing concern, ACAP Health listed four programs they are proud of:

Metabolic syndrome reduction program

Clinical stress reduction program

Price transparency and advocacy program

Clinical care engineering program

Because of Dr. Conard’s short term relationship with ACAP Health Consulting, it would be logical to assume that his emphasis on affordability has not yet infiltrated these programs, but even so they fit nicely with his overall health philosophy that everyone can lead healthier and happier lives.

For instance, Dr. Conard is board certified in the area of bariatric medicine (weight loss medicine), and those who implement the affordability of the metabolic syndrome reduction program will be guaranteed sustained weight loss through a non-diet approach based on behavioral changes.

In addition, within the clinical stress reduction program, ACAP Health offers education, online support, and coaching services to nix complex emotional and physiological type of stress.

Affordability is at the heart of the price transparency and advocacy program. With extreme cost variations between one health care provider and the next, ACAP Health chooses to share the most updated prices with its patients.

Affordability is also in the forefront of ACAP Health thinking with its clinical care engineering program where connectivity is stressed between purchasers of health care and providers of health care services.

In 2009, Dr. Scott Conard, a nationally known expert on disease prevention, author, and sought public speaker, published Weight Loss the Jabez Way. In this book, the renowned physician from Texas touched base on a topic dear to his heart. Being board certified in the area of bariatric medicine (weight loss medicine), Dr. Conard regularly parallels the connection between weight loss and lives being enhanced in every regard.

The phrase ?the Jabez Way? comes from a brief passage of Biblical scripture where Jabez, a descendant of Judah, asks God to provide healing into his life (I Chronicles 4:10). Dr. Conard does not back away from his personal religious beliefs in Weight Loss the Jabez Way, stating in a descriptor of the book that ?God has a specific health plan just for you, for your age, your genetic code, your hormone level, your metabolic rate, your body shape, and your place in life?.

Dr. Conard has spent the past 15 years studying all about the latest western medicine, eastern medicine, mind-body medicine, herbal and vitamin therapy, acupuncture, manipulation, hormone therapy, and lifestyle medicine. He has created a detailed health-related web site, The Game of Health, which includes information about Weight Loss the Jabez Way.

Among many quotes about Weight Loss the Jabez Way you can find: ?Wave the white flag of surrender. Settle the issue of who is in charge. Then expect, look and long for miraculous things to take place in your life? or ?The wonderful thing about losing weight in a healthy, controlled way is that our lives truly are blessed indeed! We are not just blessed by a lower number on the scale or our clothes fitting better, but we see our lives made better in every area!?.

Book reviewers gave high marks to Weight Loss the Jabez Way. Lisa Carson, of Leading Edge Research, said:

Weight Loss the Jabez Way is not your typical self-help book, filled with cliches and run- of-the mill tips. It challenges you to want to change your life on a level that goes beyond outward appearances, by encouraging you to look deep within yourself?

Another reviewer, James Robinson, of Life Outreach International, applauds Dr. Conard for, in the pages of Weight Loss the Jabez Way, ?? providing a common sense solution to weight loss.?

A strong argument made by Dr. Conard is that individuals who are overweight or obese don?t have to stay that way. ?You can change!?, exclaims Dr. Conard. ?All you need is a willingness to be open-minded to the principles presented in Weight Loss the Jabez Way, not close-minded because of past experiences.?

As Dr. Conard is quick to acknowledge, Weight Loss the Jabez Way is not written as a book to provide all the answers. Instead, the book was written to direct and connect readers to the Source of all answers: God.
